When you book a tutoring session with CalcPrep, we collect certain information to provide our services effectively:

Personal Information

We collect basic contact information including your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. For students, we may also collect information about your current course, academic goals, and specific topics you need help with to better prepare for your session.

Payment Information

When you make a payment for tutoring services, your payment information is processed by our secure third-party payment processors (Stripe). CalcPrep does not store your credit card details on our servers.

Session Information

We keep records of your tutoring sessions, including dates, duration, topics covered, and notes about your progress. This information is used to provide continuity in your learning experience and to improve our services.

How Information is Used and Stored

Session Recordings

With explicit consent from both the tutor and student, sessions may be recorded for educational purposes. These recordings are stored securely and are only accessible to the student, the tutor, and authorized CalcPrep staff. Recordings are typically retained for 60 days, after which they are automatically deleted unless specifically requested to be kept longer.

Information Storage

Personal information is stored securely on our protected servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.

SMS/Text Messaging

CalcPrep offers an SMS messaging program that allows users to receive text messages related to our AP Calculus tutoring and exam prep services. By opting in to our SMS program, you agree to receive text messages from CalcPrep at the phone number you provide.

Types of Messages

We may send the following types of SMS messages to users who have opted in:

  • Transactional Messages: Appointment reminders, session confirmations, schedule changes, and account notifications.
  • Marketing/Promotional Messages: Information about our programs, special offers, and educational content (only if you have separately opted in to receive marketing messages).

Consent and Opt-In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from CalcPrep through our website opt-in form at calcprep.com/sms-opt-in. Consent is collected via separate, unchecked checkboxes for transactional and marketing messages. Checking these boxes is entirely voluntary and is not required to use our services or submit the form. You may opt in to one, both, or neither category of messages.

Opting Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from CalcPrep. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message confirming your removal. You may also contact us at hi@calcprep.com to request removal from our messaging list.

Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies depending on your interactions with CalcPrep and the type of messages you have opted in to receive. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. CalcPrep is not responsible for any charges incurred from your carrier.

No Sharing of Mobile Information

Your mobile information, including your phone number and SMS consent, will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share your phone number with our SMS service provider solely for the purpose of delivering messages on our behalf, and for no other purpose.
